Terms

Terms of
use.

What you may do with this site, what a transmitted joy is and is not, and what becomes of what you entrust to us. In plain language, like the rest.

Purpose

What these terms govern.

These terms govern the use of the Pour La Joie website and the services it provides: browsing the effigy catalogue, suggesting an effigy, requesting a private effigy, and writing to the association.

Using the site means accepting these terms. They do not replace the legal notices or the privacy policy, which complete them.

Access

Free, open, and not guaranteed to be permanent.

Access to the site is free and open; connection costs remain yours.

The association endeavours to keep the site available without committing to it: maintenance, a hosting failure or a network outage may interrupt it, without any right to compensation.

No account is required to browse the site. Areas reserved for the association are accessible only to its authorised members.

The medal

What a transmitted joy is, and is not.

A virtual medal is a symbolic gesture. It confers no rights, has no market value, cannot be traded or resold, and entitles the holder to nothing from the association.

The association is not responsible for what a recipient does with the gesture received, nor for relations between the people who pass a joy on to each other.

A suggested or requested effigy is published only after review. The association may refuse without stating its reasons, in particular where an effigy harms a person, a belief, or anyone's dignity.

What you send

What you send us remains yours.

By suggesting an effigy, a letter or an account, you warrant that you hold the rights to it and infringe no one else's — in particular the image rights of the people depicted.

You authorise the association to publish that content on the site, to lay it out and to withdraw it. You remain its author: this authorisation is not an assignment, it is free of charge, and it ends at your request.

The association may refuse, edit or withdraw any content at any time, without justification — in particular content that is unlawful, abusive, promotional, or harmful to privacy.

Donations

Collected by a third party, and final.

Donations are collected by third-party platforms, whose terms and privacy policies are their own. The association never sees your bank details.

A donation, once made, is final and carries no right of withdrawal. A tax receipt, where issued, relates to the financial year in which the donation was received.

Sums received are applied to the association's work, as decided by its governing bodies.

Intellectual property

What is ours, what is yours.

The structure of the site, its texts, its code and its visual identity are protected by copyright and belong to the association, except for third-party content published with permission.

You may read, print and quote this content for personal use or to make the association known, provided you credit the source and do not distort it. Any other reuse requires prior written permission.

Liability

What we do not guarantee.

The association takes care over what it publishes, without guaranteeing that any content is free of error or up to date at the moment you read it.

It cannot be held liable for indirect loss arising from access to the site or its unavailability, nor for malware picked up while browsing.

The site links to sites it does not publish — partners, donation platforms. It has no control over their content and does not answer for it.

Changes and governing law

The version that applies is the one shown.

These terms may change at any time. The version that applies is the one published on this page when you visit.

They are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute falls to the French courts.
